The hamster’s ears should also be intact and not torn and usually judges prefer hamsters with ears that are relitavely large. .

Judges also take note of the coloration, markings and coat type. Clean fur with good shine to the coat is essential with the fur itself having to be dense over the belly area as well as the whole body. No baldness in any part of the hamster’s body has to be present. Marks are also given towards tameness.

If you decide to include your hamster in your local pet show, make you that you register at the hamster club and stick the number given to you to the hamster cage at the show.

At a hamster show, usually the hamsters are kept in separate hamster pens. Make sure that you have clean bedding, plenty of food and water in the hamster’s pen. The judge will give points regarding the size, colouring, tameness of the hamster. The pet hamster that gets the highest score wins.

This will give the hamster room to move around as well as for you to put a hamster wheel in its cage and a few toys for your hamster to play with.

I have a Dwarf Hamster. Dwarf Hamsters are smaller than other hamsters. So I was wondering also if they make special dwarf hamster mix since they are much smaller? But if they don’t I would appreciate if someone tells me which brand of hamster food makes the best food for my little hammy.
