How do i adopt a hamster from a shelter?

Well, i am getting a hamster. But me and my mom are trying to figure out how to adopt. Do you have to sign papers? Do you do it online and pick the hamster up at the shelter? How does it work?

How can I deter a hamster from eating plastic?

Hi, I keep my hamster in a plastic cage, (made completely of clear plastic), and I’ve heared if hamsters chew the plastic and swallow it, they can be poisoned. So how can I deter him from eating it? I don’t want to change the cage, but I dont want him to be poisoned either!

Do baby hamster (10 days to 2 weeks old) need to start drinking water from water bottle? They are eating fresh foods and dried foods already.
Do they need water from water bottle? Or they can still get the fluid supply from mother’s milk?

What shall i make and buy my hamster apart from the obvious things?

Im getting my hamster on the weekend and im going to buy the obvious things like food and bedding and that kinda stuff but i was wondering if anybody had any ideas what i could make my hamster? Im also going to the pet shop later to look at hamster toys and such, can anyone recommend some toys or things or whatever?

What can i do to keep my hamster from escaping my cage i have the Crittertrail X, before i bought it i didn’t read the reviews on how all the hamsters escaped the cages.:P Also What can i do to prevent my hamster from being lonely?
I just got him three days ago.
How he escapes is he opens the wire door.He is a 3 month old teddy bear hamster.

Is It Safe To Use Items From An Older Hamster Cage In My New One?

I had two hamsters about 5 years ago, that both died in the same cage (at different times). I put the cage away in the garage, and it got all rust and old, so when I decided to get a new hamster the other day I decided to get a new cage. But the items in the old cage, like the plastic exercise wheel and hamster igloo are all fine, just really dusty with lot’s of spider webs. I want to use them in the new cage for my new hamster but I’m wondering if they will be safe for my hamster? I have soaked them in boiling water with soap for about an hour. Are they okay to use now, or could they still have germs on them even if I cleaned them?
