How often can hamsters eat fresh food? How and when and what do you give your hamster?
I am getting a hamster and would like to know how often I can safely feed fresh foods a week. And how much? Could you give an example of how and what and when you feed your hamster fruits and veggies? Thanks!

You need to be careful not to give your hamster to much fresh food because it can upset its stomach but a little bit every 2-3 days is fine.
When i had my hamster he loved to eat lettuce, cucumber, apple, banana, broccoli, carrot, grapes, corn, peas, cauliflower and strawberrys.
Take a look at this website it has a list of foods you can give them and it tells you what amounts you should be feeding them http://hamsterific.com/Nutrition.cfm
Well I fed mine fresh food every 5 days.
For example;
Lettuce,
Cucumber,
Cherry tomatoes,
Carrots,
Green beans,
Grapes,
And baby sweet corn.
I hope this has helped you.
If you see that your hamster has diohreaoh that indicates you’ve given him/her too much.
Good luck.
Oh and by the way it should extend your hamsters life as mine lived for ages with the help of fresh fruit and veg.
It’s very healthy for them just like it is for humans it’s practically essential; remember it contains all the vitamins and minerals hamsters need.
