well hampsters are little we clean once a month . hardly work
You need to wash them once a week. IT’s not hard, but it’s a hassle.
Most of the ‘Habitrails’ are easy to clean. They all disassemble easily. Just wash all the pieces once a week with regular dish detergent and hot water. Actually if you can find a natural cleaning product it would be best. No harmful chemical residue to build up.
Always make sure you give your pet fresh water everyday and check on the food supply. Hamsters like to hoard food so it may be hidden in the cage. Remove any food that looks ‘spoiled’ or smells bad. Completely change the food when you clean the cage.
Washing the cage removes bacteria and germs that when allowed to build up, can smell really bad or could make your pet sick.
Enjoy your pet.
once a month beacause hamster are not that dirty
I have a lot of tubes and cages for my hamster. She usually pees in a few certain areas. It’s really easy to clean out. All you have to do is take out the tubes they peed on and clean them out. It SO easy! Also, those cages are better for a hamster because it has tunnels just like hamsters do in the wild.
I was going to say when it smells ,,no it’s just time consuming
I have a hamster.. and we had alot of tubes.. i meen ALOT! after a while it was really getting annoying to wash, because we took the tubes apart.. and threw them in a bubble bath ahha. But now its a simple cage.. and its pretty easy to clean. and yeah if your behind and miss a day it will smell. ?
You have to clean it about once a week.It is a bit of a pain to clean i,but not too muchh if you do it properly. All you really haveto do is cover one side of the tube, and pour a bit of water and vinigar in the side thats open, then cover that side too and shake it around a bit. Some of the wateer will come out of the air holes too and thats okay. And yes,if you get behind it will begin to smell.
Hope I Helped!
YES, they smell horrible, and are SO hard to clean, and they brake SO easily, that my hamsters always use to get out. Thats why I got them both new cages. Emma has a 4 story cage, and Sammy has a 1 story cage, for now, lol. You should defiantly NOT get your hamster one of those cages. GOOD LUCK
Yes they are. We have 2 hampsters with 2 cages with numerous tubes. Smells and is a pain. Once a week.
yes they are trust me
Clean your cage at minimum every two weeks…..when you go to clean the tubes…..fill a sink with HOT HOT water and some disinfectant and let the tubes soak while you clean the rest of the cage.
I have 11 dwarfs (mom was pregnant when we adopted her…then she went into heat again after birth…we THEN figured out how to sex our hamsters)
i don’t know the frequency of cleaning but i would guess once a week.
as for cleaning
just plug up all openings but one and fill it with soapy water then let it drain
