How can you tell if a hamster is friendly at a petstore?
I am getting a dwarf hamster in the spring and want it to be friendly. I will probably get it at petco. How can I tell if the hamster will be friendly?

How much should I feed my hamster if I’m going away for the weekend?
My husband and I are driving about 2 hours north to visit my family this weekend. We are leaving tonight (Friday) and will be back on Sunday. I’m planning to leave the hamster here because they are chain smokers and they have a dog which would probably cause my hamster added stress. I’m just not sure how much food to leave her for the weekend. I’m hoping she won’t try to eat it all in one night and have nothing left by Sunday when we get back. Any suggestions?

What is the normal hamster teeth length?
I’ve got a gorgeous 3 month old hamster and I’ve been noticing that when she yawns, her teeth are rather big. I know hamster teeth constantly grow but she does have a lot of wooden toys etc to gnaw on, and she appears to be eating fine. I’m not sure how long hamster teeth are actually meant to be though in terms of inches or centimetres and I don’t want to take her to the vet to get them filed if they’re a perfectly normal length! So does anyone know what the normal hamster teeth length is please?

How long does it take a hamster to get used to you? I got one yesterday and all it does is stay in a tube.?
I got a hamster yesterday(i named it hokey pokey) and all it does is stay in a tube where i cant get it. I tried feeding it and i got it out once but not again. How long will this continue? I really love hamsters and this is my first time owning one so if anyone has any tips or information i would be glad to hear it. Thanks
